PAUL- Posters

       Posters play a massive point in Advertising as they can be put up anywhere, Billboards, buildings, buses, bus stops, etc. They are made to entice the audience by giving them a tiny taster of the genre and characters (actors) in the picture.

Yellow Poster;

  • Acid yellow background and white writing, contrasting but eye catching.
  • Main Actors aren't shown. However this is and American poster, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are not yet known in America so wouldn't be an issue.
  • 'From the Earthling who brought you SUPERBAD', using Earthling shows the genre of the film, whilst using the example of Superbad a very popular comedy appeals to that films audience.
  • 'Joker' and 'Alien' immediately show the genre of the film.
  • Image of Paul on the poster in flipflops and shorts gives a taster of the characters in the film, and an example of the cgi effects.

Photo Poster;

  • 'Close Encounter' reference shows sci-fi genre, and appeals to the audience of that film.
  • The comedy genre is shown by the Photo which is of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost well known comedy actors in the UK. Also the alien stood with them adds to the comedy.
  • 'From the producers of HOT FUZZ' similar to the american poster but using a British film appeals to a similar audience of Hot Fuzz.
  • Mise en Scene, Ecycatching image in centre looks as if a spot light is shining on them, indicating their could be they are trying to be caught by someone, an indication to the storyline.
  • Release date 'Valentines Day 2011' a significant date easily remembered and a big day for people going to the cinema.
